My coach told me when I used to stop to write my sets/times, it was a cop-out. He said there was time AFTER the practice for this.
I still write in a swim diary, but I do it after practice and after the meets.

This swimmer was not only writing the times / sets, but he was doing so within the rest between the sets. At one point in practice, during a set of 100's descend, he got his own time on his wrist watch, wrote down his time on his pad, put down the pencil, watched the clock, and pushed off on time for the next one. I'd hardly call that a cop out. I'd call it extra effort. :)

He's keeping track of his times and coach's suggestions. There is so much to learn and absorb and keeping a log is a great way to keep it fresh. I also coach and I wish more swimmers would be so attentive and diligent.

Great idea! But how does he do it without soaking the pages??? Is this some sort of waterproof book??

BINGO!!! Great eye, and yes. It's called RAIN paper. I thought the exact same thing when I saw him writing on it. It's very cool. I may order a couple pads for when the season starts.

Glenn,
Thanks for noting our Rite in the Rain all-weather paper web site on the Go Swim site! We are delighted and honored to see our products used by competitive swimmers! RITR is a unique coated paper created for use in wet situations. Our products (notebooks, copier paper etc) are used from the Top of Everest to the Congo and now, apparently, by swimmers! We'd be happy to sell our products thru any swim supply outlets so please let them know we exist. We could easily create a "swim training log" also if needed! Our copier paper enables folks to create their own race sheets, training and pool maintenance logs etc.
Thanks again and let us knnow how we can be of assistance to swimmers, coaches and race organizers with our unique stuff.
Sincerely,
Todd Silver todd@riteintherain.com 253-922-5000x111
